The largest batch of explosives in the history of the country was stopped by customs officers in Belarus: a 41-year-old driver wanted to smuggle 580 kilos of a powerful substance.
He was traveling through the Brest checkpoint in his Mercedes. During the inspection, customs officers discovered a thick layer of explosives hidden in the car. They tried to hide it by covering it with vibration and noise insulating sheets and chipboard. To prevent service dogs from reacting to it, the inner edges of the body were treated with technical lubricant.
Nakhodka is a powerful high explosive pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) with a total amount of more than 580 kg. Presumably it was made in the USA. The driver was detained and faces 10 years in prison.
