The European Space Agency has published new photographs of the Sun taken by the Solar Orbiter probe.
The footage represents “the most complete high-resolution image of the star's visible surface to date.”
The agency calls sunspots the brightest features in the images; they are cooler than the rest of the surface, so they emit less light.
