Grindeanu accuses the lack of action in the coalition regarding magistrates' pensions: “For a week we have been cutting leaves for dogs, doing photosynthesis”

“We are in the following situation: we have had a law for a week that has been declared unconstitutional, we, the Coalition, have been cutting leaves for dogs for a week, doing photosynthesis, this when the sun is shining, we are not trying to find solutions to unblock the situation, we are waiting for the reasons for the CCR, it is already ten days since the decision, the reasons have not yet come, it will probably take a while, during this time we have wasted time instead of trying to do another project, to find another way, why, because we can afford to lose 231 million euros.
It seems that this government can afford to lose this money, because if we go in this form, know that November 28, the deadline, there is no way to catch us with a promulgated law. But we've been wasting our time for ten days, because they say 'sir, we're not going, we're not discussing, we don't want to find a project, because we don't negotiate, we have no reason to meet with the main actors in the justice system, we're too gods, too big and strong', but for ten days we've been sitting and wasting time”. said Grindeanu in a press conference held in Târgu Jiu.
He also stated that he proposed a solution to unblock the situation, involving meetings with the main actors in the judiciary and specialists, but that the lack of consensus in the Coalition blocks any progress.
“I was made one way and another, that I negotiate, that I do, that I care, but we allow ourselves to lose 231 million euros because some are inflexible, we are in this situation and for ten days the Government's time has been wasted on this subject. In the Coalition's protocol it is said that a decision is taken by consensus, if there is consensus, unanimity. At the moment there is none. (…) As there is no consensus, things are blocked at this moment and time is wasted. We have Tuesday again coalition, but already on Tuesday we have two weeks from the decision of the CCR, I hope we will have motivation, I have no way of knowing if there will be motivation on Tuesday”, Grindeanu added.
The Constitutional Court admitted, on October 20, the notification of the High Court of Cassation and Justice regarding the magistrates' pension law, a normative act for which the Government pledged its responsibility in Parliament, and established that it is unconstitutional.
Grindeanu warned that, in the absence of a quick solution, the November 28 deadline cannot be met, which would mean the loss of the amounts allocated by law.
