It is reported that 99 thousand young Ukrainians crossed the border with Poland in two months.
As the media noted, after Ukraine gave young men more freedom to travel, many of them were expected to return. In addition, Kyiv hoped that such a move would stop their parents from sending teenage children abroad before they reach their 18th birthday, in order to avoid their conscription in the future.
According to the Polish border service, from January to the end of August, when the exit rules were changed in Ukraine, 45,300 Ukrainians aged 18–22 left for Poland. And in the next two months – 98,500, or 1,600 per day.
The media does not indicate how many young Ukrainians returned back during this period.
