“Many have bank loans”

Superliga is the field where employees are used to not receiving their salary on time. It also shows an analysis done live at GSP Live by Emilian Hulubei, president of AFAN – Association of Amateur and Non-Amateur Footballers.
Directly involved and close to the players, Hulubei knows in detail the financial situation in Romanian football. And he agreed to publicly discuss each team in Romania separately. Who is up to date with money, who is not?
- According to Hulubei's statements, they owe employees CFR Cluj, Ato, Hermannstadt, The oil and The steel. Union Slobozia has not paid off all financial obligations to former team players, while U Cluj she is also behind on bonus payments. That means 7/16 (43.75%) Superliga clubs are in arrears!
- “UTA is really in danger of receiving a ban on transfers”, said the president of AFAN. Meanwhile, the Aradians were sanctioned again by FIFA.
- FC Botosani, Rapid, University of Craiova, Dinamo, FC Arges, lighthouse, FCSB, Csikszereda and Metalloglobus they have no delays in payments, claims Hulubei.
- The leader of the competition runs on an atypical system – salaries are transferred once every 3 months, with the consent of the players.
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO | Emilian Hulubei, president of AFAN, x-rays the Superliga teams
FC Botosani
At Botoșani there is a strange system, accepted by the players: it is paid once every three months. Players get paid once every three months. Of course it's legal, if the players agree
Rapid
The money is up to date
University of Craiova
Salaries are up to date
Dinamo
Everything is fine
FC Arges
There are no debts
The steel
They are in arrears

Emilian Hulubei, in the GSP Live studio
lighthouse
There is no question of debt there
Union Slobozia
They have debts to past players, they need to be paid
U Cluj
They have no financial problems. They are always a little late, but also have some bonuses to take from the past. However, they had no serious financial problems, they always paid
FCSB
There is no question of such a thing
The oil
There are financial problems, yes
Ato
It fell in the rankings for this reason as well. They have several players from last season who submitted their pleadings – there are about 7-8 footballers with pleadings with FIFA. Three of them have expired and it looks like UTA could be in danger of receiving another transfer ban. It's a stressful situation: there are 60 players who performed at UTA last season. Some of them haven't even played, but they have salary arrears to pay. What I would like to mention is the fact that Meszar, the leader of the team, although he instituted the preventive concordat, he preferred not to include the players in this concordat and to pay their financial arrears. He could have easily included them in the composition plan and given them the money in 48 months, but he chose not to
CFR Cluj
There are also problems at CFR. They are in arrears – most of the players have two months' wages in arrears, plus some unpaid bonuses from last season. The situation is pressing on the team. When you're a professional player and you're not getting paid, your mind is on your financial problems, on the debts you have. Many have bank loans, have bought houses, cars. When you don't get paid, it's an added pressure on the psyche
Csikszereda
They have no financial problems
Hermannstadt
I would even link the situation of the team in the ranking to the financial one: they have two months of outstanding salaries, plus some bonuses to receive from the past. There is dissatisfaction at the level of the team, among the players. They have to receive money for Ianis Stoica, from Portugal, money that will probably solve the financial problems. When everything is up to date, I think they have the potential to rise in the rankings, to reach somewhere in the middle
Metalloglobus
I know them from the 3rd League – they have never had financial problems. The money is on time, what was negotiated is paid. I know they are small contracts, but the players improve their financial resources through the bonuses offered by Imad, the owner of the club
Record of disputes in Romanian football!
Hulubei expects the number of litigations to reach a record high.
“We have 600 or so disputes between players/coaches and clubs. There are two months left in this year so I think we will reach a record number of 700-800 litigations. There have been no more than 680 so far.
We expect even more next year, as the Bolojan government's austerity measures will hit sports and local authorities directly – the main sponsors of League 2 and League 3 teams. Probably from next year the budgets will be affected and restricted“, added the president of AFAN, at GSP Live.
