The acceptance of applications for funds for the energy transformation ended on October 15. The process of their evaluation is currently underway, a the contracts are to be concluded no later than August 31, 2026. However, the funds may be spent at a later date.
BGK had a budget of PLN 96.1 billion, most of which consisted of loans. Non-repayable support, in the amount of PLN 2.1 billion, was allocated exclusively to investments related to hydrogen technologies.

So far, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego signed contracts worth nearly PLN 82 billion. Prof. Marta Postuła, first vice-president of the management board of BGK, assured that all available funds would be distributed. As part of the Energy Support Fund, six contracts worth nearly PLN 61 billion were signed, which include the construction and modernization of power grids with a total length of approximately 147,000 km. km.
As emphasized by prof. postula, the value of submitted applications in this category amounted to as much as PLN 150 billion, which is much more than the available funds.
The second KPO instrument was investments for the green transformation of cities, for which PLN 14.8 billion was allocated. So far, BGK has signed over 1,000 contracts for the implementation of approximately 3,000 projects with a total value of nearly PLN 7.8 billion.

The third area where the budget has been reduced is the construction of offshore wind farms. Initially, approximately PLN 20 billion was planned to be allocated for this purpose, but ultimately the amount decreased to PLN 9.8 billion. BGK signed five agreements in this regard.
“Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” points out that despite budget constraints, interest in investing in the energy transformation remains huge, which proves the growing need to modernize the energy infrastructure in Poland.
