FCSB marched on the National Arena, score 4-0 against UTA Arad, in stage #14 of the Superleague. The goals of the champions of the last two seasons were scored by Daniel Bîrligea, Mamadou Thiam, Florin Tănase and Darius Olaru, the last two from the penalty.
The game was compromised for the people of Arada since the extra time of the first half, when the goalkeeper Dejan Iliev was eliminated for a handball committed outside the box, after a phase in which he was pressured by David Miculescu.

“We needed points. I'm glad we scored the first goal of the championship. We have to keep working, have confidence in ourselves, play for fun and stop being tense. The pressure has also gathered and you can see the tension in our game.”

Darius Olaru, honest after the victory: “We had a discussion between us”
“We had a discussion between us, it was clear that we had to have a reaction after the defeat with Metaloglobus. We have to collect points, because we need them. We had a few talks, nothing special, but we enjoyed the football more today and it worked out for us. We scored four goals and we want to continue like that.
Yes, at the penalty we leave each other, me and Tănase. I'm glad we both scored today.”
Olaru also sent a message about the team's busy schedule:
“In the championship, everyone says that it is difficult for them with three matches a week. What can we say, that since the summer we only play every three days? What can we say, that it is difficult for us?
Last year it was like there was a different motivation, a different pleasure. I had results. And now there is motivation, but the results are not coming. When you get results, you get a different feeling.”
FCSB is back in the fight for the play-offs
After 4-0 against UTA, FCSB returns to the fight for the play-off places and gets the necessary morale before the match in the Romanian Cup, away to Gloria Bistrița.
On the other hand, UTA Arad will receive a visit from Petrolul Ploiești, also in the Cup.
