The date of the FCSB – Dinamo derby, from the 19th round of the Super League, could be influenced by the elections for Bucharest City Hall. The announcement was made by Justin Ștefan, the general secretary of the LPF.
The elections for the Capital City Hall will take place on December 7. As the most attractive match of the stage is usually played on Sunday, the Romanian Derby should have been played on the same date.
Through a post on Facebook, Justin Ștefan announced that it is taken into account that the match does not overlap with the elections and is scheduled for Saturday, December 6. The schedule of the 19th stage of the Superliga has not yet been determined.
LPF considers avoiding the overlap between FCSB – Dinamo and the elections for Bucharest City Hall
“The FCSB – Dinamo match, originally scheduled for Sunday, December 7 (19th stage), coincides with the date of the Bucharest City Hall elections.
To avoid overlapping with this event, together with the media partners we are analyzing the advance of the game by one day, most likely on Saturday, December 6.
The official date and time of the match will be established and communicated approximately three weeks before the match”, wrote Justin Ștefan, on Facebook.
The matches of the 19th round of the Superliga:
-
FCSB – Dynamo
-
U Cluj – Hermannstadt
-
Csikszereda – FC Arges
-
FC Botoșani – Fast
-
Metaloglobus – Lighthouse
-
Steel – Unirea Slobozia
-
University of Craiova – CFR Cluj
-
UTA – Oil
FC Botoșani – Rapid or Universitatea Craiova – CFR Cluj are the matches that could be played on Sunday evening, if it is decided that FCSB – Dinamo does not overlap with the elections.
At the moment, the names circulated to run for Bucharest City Hall, according to Libertatea, are Daniel Băluță (PSD), Ciprian Ciucu (PNL) and Cătălin Drula (USR).
In the last derby between the two, Dinamo prevailed against the big rival with a score of 4-3. The “dogs” thus ended the black streak of 10 consecutive defeats in the championship against their rivals.
