Vassilis Panagiotaropoulos was forced to leave his studies at the age of 12 to help his father in the field, The Guardian reports.
After almost 50 years of working as a chef and running a tavern in Athens, the man decided to return to school. Since last year, he has been attending classes with 15-year-olds.
Panagiotaropoulos became famous when he led a school parade. The old cook was recognized as the best student in the class.
Panagiotaropoulos' favorite classes are Ancient Greek and mathematics. He will graduate from high school in June.
