The year 2025 will be a complete breakthrough in terms of issuing work permits, because there will probably be about 30 percent of them. less than it was a few years ago – Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Maciej Duszczyk announced on Tuesday on a social networking site.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration commented on information about the work of foreigners in Poland in a recording posted on website X. He stated that “fake news is appearing in the media space again” on this topic.
The year 2025 will be a complete breakthrough when it comes to issuing work permits, because there will probably be about 30 percent of them. less than it was a few years ago, in 2022 or 2023 – he said. He noted that the largest declines in this area concern citizens of Bangladesh, the Philippines, India, Colombia, Nepal, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
– A very similar situation applies to work visas. While in 2022 the previous government issued almost 200,000 of them to non-Ukrainian citizens, this year it will be significantly less than 100,000. As you can see here, the decrease is up to 50%. – said Duszczyk.
The deputy minister also referred to data from the Social Insurance Institution. – Here we actually see some slight increases, but it is very good that foreigners who have so far worked in the gray zone or on the so-called contracts for specific work are registering with ZUS, taking up work, paying taxes and insurance premiums – he said. – I guess that's exactly what we had in mind. We achieved the goal we set. We regained control and ensure safety, he added.
Karolina Gałecka, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, stated on website
“The numbers are clear: in the period July-September 2023, there were over 83,000 work permits for foreigners; in the period July-September 2024, this number dropped to approximately 73,000; in the period July-September 2025, it was only 52,000.” – she wrote.(PAP)
