PiS is preparing its program convention on a grand scale. Two days full of specialist panels

A two-day program convention of Law and Justice will be held on Friday and Saturday in Katowice. The event will begin with a speech by PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński; it will be followed by a total of 132 discussion panels regarding, among others, security, foreign affairs, military and health.

The convention will be held under the slogan “Thinking: Poland”; similar conventions of this group were also held in 2015 and 2019 – among others, PiS program assumptions before the parliamentary elections. Former deputy prime minister, former minister of culture, chairman of the PiS program council, Piotr Gliński, said in an interview with PAP that over 600 panelists and several thousand participants are expected to take part in this year's events.

During the two-day convention at the International Congress Center in Katowice, a total of: one plenary session, 17 main sessions and 114 specialist panels were planned, including: security, foreign affairs, health, sport, law, media, economy and energy. They will take part, among others: PiS politicians and experts associated with this formation, as well as the head of President Karol Nawrocki's cabinet, Paweł Głosernaker, and presidential ministers: Zbigniew Bogucki, Marcin Przydacz and Adam Andruszkiewicz. Panel participants will also include: president of the Ordo Iuris Institute Jerzy Kwaśniewski or former presidential candidate Artur Bartoszewicz.

As PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński emphasized in the introduction to the convention program, The political program for the next elections is to lead PiS “towards removing Donald Tusk from power and taking over responsibility for Poland.” Gliński emphasized that PiS does not yet have a ready political program the convention is the stage of its preparation. He informed that in addition to himself, the treasurer of the Warsaw PiS structures, Tomasz Herbich, and Małgorzata Żuk, an activist of the PiS youth wing dealing with international affairs, also took part in the creation of the event.

The convention will begin on Friday at 10th program speech by the PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński; On the same day, in the evening, a plenary session “NATO's eastern flank – challenges” will be held, with the participation of, among others, former head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak.

The main sessions on Friday's program include: panel devoted to the creation of a new constitution with the participation of, among others, former president of the Constitutional Tribunal Julia Przyłębska, a session on challenges related to the Green Deal, migration, the new EU budget, a panel on geopolitical changes, a session related to housing policy, a panel on security and the Polish Army and a session devoted to the economy and energy.

On the other hand specialist panels will include, among others: the Polish diaspora, oil, fuels and gas as pillars of economic development, the Central Communication Port, resistance to natural disasters, the EU digital order, mining transformation, conservative feminism and women's safety in the face of illegal migration. The program assumes that the panels will end at 22.15.

Saturday's main events will start at 9th session on sovereign agriculture. According to Saturday's program, former prime minister, vice-president of PiS Mateusz Morawiecki, is responsible for the session on public finances, and former prime minister, vice-president of PiS Beata Szydło is responsible for the session on social policy. On this day there will also be: two sessions devoted to aspirations, both focused on new technologies and economic development, a session on culture and historical policy, a session on the justice system and a session on priorities for health care.

Specialist panels will include discussions on, among others: reform of public media, Christianophobia, anti-migration law, foreign service reform, protection of Polish children and mental health, challenges of Karol Nawrocki's presidency and the role of the National Bank of Poland. The convention is to end with Kaczyński's speech scheduled for 19. (PAP)
