Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren went to China to study the language

Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren arrived in the Chinese city of Changchun to participate in the educational module of the autumn children's camp of the Changchun School of Foreign Languages. This was reported to the mayor's office.

The trip to the Celestial Empire was a return visit within the framework of an agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the MAOU “Lyceum No. 1” and the School of Foreign Languages. In China, lyceum students can expect daily lessons, as well as immersion in the cultural and linguistic environment – classes, excursions to museums, participation in sports competitions and intellectual team games.

This year, the educational module of the summer school camp for students from Changchun on the basis of Lyceum No. 1 has already been successfully implemented. Then the Chinese children studied Russian for two weeks in Krasnoyarsk and got acquainted with Russian traditions.

Conducting an educational program on the basis of these two schools is not accidental. The lyceum implements a multilingual education model, in which training takes place in several languages ​​at once. And the Changchun School of Foreign Languages ​​is considered one of the most prestigious in China.

“It is a great honor for us to be together with the children at the Changchun Foreign Language School. Such educational exchanges are the foundation for the development of mutual understanding and a significant tool for broadening the horizons of children. The children not only learn about each other’s culture when they live side by side with Changchun students, attend lessons and communicate outside the classroom – they build strong bridges of friendship,” said Elena Kuksenko, director of Lyceum No. 1.

An educational agreement between the schools was signed in 2024. Such a partnership makes it possible to implement exchange programs for students and teachers, conduct joint lessons with the Chinese side in an online format, and maintain long-term scientific and educational ties.​

“The Russian and Chinese sides are steadily developing cooperation in the field of education, strengthening friendly relations between our cities, which have been sister cities for more than ten years. Studying under the autumn program in Changchun is a unique experience of practice and knowledge exchange for Krasnoyarsk children, improving language skills and consolidating knowledge already acquired within the walls of the lyceum. Such visits give a new round in the development of our international intermunicipal interaction,” emphasized Inna Dozortseva, deputy head of the city mayor’s department and head of the external relations department.​​

Let us recall that cooperation between Krasnoyarsk and the city of Changchun has been developing since 2010, when an Agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation was concluded between the administration of Krasnoyarsk and the People's Government of the city of Changchun (Jilin Province, China). In 2014, an Agreement was signed to establish sister city relations between the cities.
