Rospotrebnadzor specialists compared the nutritional value of the two most popular Russian soups – cabbage soup and borscht. According to experts, both dishes have significant benefits for the body and deserve a place in the diet.
As the department reported, both cabbage soup and borscht contain an ideal balance of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, and are also rich in vitamins B, C, K, organic acids and mineral salts.
Experts have identified five main benefits of traditional soups: they activate digestion, help control blood viscosity, contain healthy proteins, have a detox effect, and when cooked in vegetable broth, help in weight loss.
Experts paid special attention to sour cream, which is traditionally added to these soups. A spoonful of sour cream neutralizes the excess acidity of the soup, thereby protecting the gastrointestinal tract.
