Mihai Teja, 47 years old, the coach of Metaloglobus, commented the victory against the FCSB champion2-1, the first success for the newly promoted team at the elite level.
Metaloglobus was led by the champion of the last two seasons, but turned the score around in the second half, then caught the red-blue attack.
Mihai Teja was delighted with what his students put into practice and revealed what he conveyed to them between halves, before they staged a “comeback”.
Mihai Teja, after the victory with FCSB: “It will be different now”
“I believed all the time, every game. I believe in our work, I congratulate the boys for showing character, attitude and determination. They played a good game, tactically we were very, very good.
We knew that, being the team with more quality, they would come to play, try to open us up, and that's when we approached in such a way that we could catch them on the counter-attack.
I have speed players up, I also mean Abbey, who played a very good game today, tried things. We are happy for 3 points. We broke the ice, we made history.
This gives us morale, confidence. It's different, I saw the boys after the match, now we will train differently. I told them all the time that I have faith in them, now I think we will gain even more faith after this win,” Teja told DigiSport.
“At halftime I told them that we have nothing left to lose, that we have to play, to go in much more aggressively and try harder when we have the ball. We tried to play more on foot, to try to surprise them at speed”, added the coach of Metaloglobus.
For the newly-promoted side, there is another home match, another fiery duel – at least in theory. That's because the next opponent is Craiova University, the team in second place in the Superliga.
