Romanian goalkeeper Andrei Vlad (26 years old) lived a nightmare day. Today, in the match between Astana and Aktobe, score 5-3, played in the 25th stage of the Kazakhstan championship, the former FCSB goalkeeper was taken off after conceding four goals in the first half.

Undisputed starter in Aktobe this season, Vlad had a disastrous first half of the match.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 10th minute, through the Nigerian Charles Geoffrey, who took advantage of the hesitation of the Romanian goalkeeper.

The same Geoffrey made the double in the 34th minute, in an almost identical phase, Vlad stayed on the goal line and did not intervene.

After a penalty converted by Astana and another confused defensive phase, Bulgarian coach Nikolay Kostov decided to replace Andrei Vlad at half-time, introducing Igor Trofimets (29) between the sticks.

History repeats itself for the former goalkeeper from FCSB

The situation recalls the moment in March 2022, when Vlad was taken out at half-time from FCSB, in the match lost by the red-blues at FC Argeș (0-1), after a huge blunder in the goal scored by George Ganea.

Then, the boss Gigi Becali reacted harshly:

You can't win if someone like Vlad comes and puts the ball in the goal. It's a situation of laughing stunts. I also took after my people, who said he was the best in training.

– declared the boss of the FCSB in 2022

Since then, Vlad's place in the FCSB goal was taken over by Ștefan Târnovanu, who became the rightful holder.

In January 2025, Vlad transferred to Aktobe, where he has played 28 matches so far, scoring 32 goals.

At the international level, the goalkeeper has only one match for the Romanian national team, in a friendly lost in 2021 against Georgia (1-2).
