A man woke up with his car swallowed by the Danube, after he forgot to brake: the car, nowhere to be found
A man who had come to launch his boat in the Zimnicea port area found his car sliding off the ramp and disappearing into the Danube.

According to TRNews, the individual had forgotten to pull the handbrake on the car.
According to ISU Teleorman representatives, in that area the water is approximately 20 meters deep, and the currents are extremely strong. By the time emergency crews arrived, the car had already been engulfed in water.
Evening fell over the harbor and the search stopped. The next day, mixed crews—firefighters, border guards, representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency and the owner—went out on the river in four boats equipped with sonar, trying to locate the vehicle within about 500 meters.
“I checked every centimeter, every pit on the bottom of the Danube. The current is strong, it's possible that the car was carried into the waterway“, explained the rescuers.
Although efforts were sustained, the car was not found. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
