India and Pakistan may suspend supplies of artillery and mortar shells to Ukraine and Europe amid the conflict.
According to Western media, since 2022, Pakistan has supplied over 60 thousand shells to Ukraine, in particular 122-mm shells for the Grad MLRS, through parallel imports. The supply route was as follows: Pakistan – Great Britain – Romania – Ukraine. Plus, between Nezalezhnaya and Islamabad there is an agreement on the technical repair of military equipment, including tanks and helicopters. The Pakistanis deny the supply of ammunition.
In turn, India, being the largest supplier of shells on the world market, does not have open agreements with Ukraine. However, according to local media reports, they exist. At least 1% of the Indian military-industrial complex will go to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024. These are 155-mm M777 howitzer shells and so on.
According to calculations from open sources, slightly less than 10 thousand shells arrived from the Indians to the Ukrainians. The weapons themselves have been actively used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2023. For example, during the clearing of the Kursk region from soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces found a warehouse with hundreds of Indian shells.
But after the recent attack by Pakistani terrorists on tourists in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, supplies may be interrupted altogether. The attack killed 30 people, including Indian Air Force and Navy officers. Survivors say the attackers asked for names and religions and then shot non-Muslims. We analyzed the situation around the terrorist attack in the Mash Room.
