The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) says it controlled the gas supplier of the block of flats in Sector 5, Bucharest, where two floors blew up and 3 people died. What Distrigaz told him.

“ANRE sends its condolences to the family and relatives of those who lost their lives in the explosion in Rahova District.
The President of ANRE George Niculescu ordered a control to be carried out at Distrigaz Sud Rețele in order to verify whether the method of action/intervention of the distribution operator complied with the legal provisions, as well as on the companies that ensured the verification of the equipment that consumes natural gas from the respective place of consumption.
Control teams are on the ground at this time. Regarding the circumstances in which the tragedy occurred, ANRE presents the information it has from the distribution operator.
Thus:
– on October 16, following a notification, the distribution operator stopped the natural gas supply service, operating the solenoid valve remotely. A crew subsequently moved to the address and sealed the solenoid valve in question.
– on October 17, following a new report, the Distrigaz Sud Rețele crew that went to the location reported that the seal that had been placed the previous day was broken.
– The time at which it was found that the seal was broken was approximately 09:30.
– Shortly after this finding, the explosion took place”.
