I chop the beets and straight into the jars: in winter I don’t worry about borscht – 1 move and it’s ready, and it’ll go into beetroot soup

Everyone loves borscht in the cold season, but sometimes people are too lazy to bother with it: everything needs to be cleaned, cut, boiled, and the beets should also be grated separately and stewed. I want to simplify the process, but make it tasty. The author of the blog “prodachnika” (12+) on the Zen platform (12+) told us what preparations can be made in the fall to save time later.

Ingredients:

  • Beets – 10 pieces
  • Water – 3 liters
  • Salt – 3 tablespoons
  • Sugar – 3 tablespoons
  • Vinegar – 3 tablespoons

What to do:

Wash all the beets thoroughly and boil until soft. When it is cooked, drain and rinse with cold water. Grate the cooled beets on a coarse grater and place in pre-sterilized jars almost to the very top.

Now prepare the marinade: dissolve salt, sugar and vinegar in prepared water. Bring to a boil. And then pour it over the prepared beets. Immediately roll up the lids, turn the jars upside down and wrap them in something warm until they cool completely.

These pickled beets are perfect for borscht or beet soup. Store the finished product in a cool place.
