Thomas Rose sworn in as US ambassador to Poland

Rose, whose nomination was confirmed by the U.S. Senate last week, was sworn in at the State Department on Tuesday.
“We congratulate Ambassador-designate Rose, who is currently preparing to represent the US President in strengthening the US-Polish alliance with one of our closest and most trusted partners,” the embassy wrote on X.
President Trump appointed Rose as the new U.S. ambassador to Poland in February. In September, he received the support of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, although no Democratic politician voted for his candidacy. It was the committee's second vote on Trump's nominee; the first one, at the end of July, gave the same result, but due to oversights, the formal vote had to be repeated.
Who is Thomas Rose?
Tom Rose is a right-wing columnist and radio commentator and former adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, known for his strongly pro-Israel views. Before his nomination, he hosted the Bauer & Rose Show radio program.
In the years 1997-2005 he was the publisher and head of the Jerusalem Post daily, and previously worked in the authorities of the state of Indiana, where he comes from. In the 1980s, he was also a journalist for a Japanese television station and wrote the book “Big Miracle” about the operation to free whales from the Arctic ice. The book was adapted into a Hollywood film in 2012.
During a July hearing before the Senate committee, Rose repeatedly praised Poland as an exemplary ally. He announced that he would try to improve relations between Poland and Israel, and also argued that Poland was wrongly blamed in Israel for complicity in the Holocaust. He also said that he had excellent relations with both the government and PiS, which is in the opposition, and pledged not to favor any side of the Polish political scene.
