Based on an inspection in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the court banned the Spiders Land zoo from operating in Russia without a license. This was reported to Rosselkhoznadzor and the regional prosecutor's office.

According to experts, the “Spiders Land” zoo, which was advertised as a “pet exhibition”, operated in Lesosibirsk from February 7 to February 23, 2025. On February 10, employees of Rosselkhoznadzor, together with representatives of the environmental prosecutor’s office, decided to check the exhibition. As a result, it turned out that the activities of “Spiders land” have nothing to do with the concept of “exhibition”.

An individual entrepreneur opened a mobile petting zoo; he did not just demonstrate animals, but carried out economic activities without a mandatory license to use animals for cultural and entertainment purposes.

“The audit showed that this year the entrepreneur visited “pet exhibitions” in Krasnoyarsk, Kuzbass, Kurgan, Tomsk and Tyumen. However, the conditions for keeping the pets did not meet veterinary and sanitary rules, which created risks both for their health and for visitors,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Based on the results of the inspection, the entrepreneur was fined for failure to comply with the requirements for the use of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes and their maintenance (Part 1 of Article 8.53 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) and for violation of veterinary and sanitary rules (Part 1 of Article 10.6 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) for 10 thousand rubles.

Later, the materials of the inspection carried out in Lesosibirsk formed the basis for a lawsuit by the environmental prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Currently, the court has made a decision and prohibited an individual entrepreneur from engaging in these activities in the Russian Federation without a license.

The execution of the court decision is under constant control of the prosecutor's office.
