Two men wanted to take a shortcut and fell through thin ice on the Cat Pond in Moscow
The incident occurred in the Novogireevo area. The men were going about business and decided to shorten the route – they walked on thin ice, which could not withstand them.
At first they tried to get out on their own. Then they were helped by eyewitnesses and workers who extended a construction pipe to the drowning people. One of them quickly went under water, the other was pulled out. Rescuers recovered the drowned man's body.
