Copper prices on the LME metal exchange in London are at a stable level after strong fluctuations during previous sessions, when the metal increased in price by over USD 300 and fell by USD 350, brokers inform.

Copper in 3-month deliveries on the LME is valued close to USD 10,820.00 per tonne, quoted at the end of the previous session.

On Comex in New York, copper is trading at $5.1000 per pound, down 0.86%.

On the SHF Metal Exchange in Shanghai, copper is valued at 86,120.00 yuan per tonne, up by 1.54%.

Copper prices on the LME are up more than 20% this year, with investors starting to invest heavily in the metal in recent weeks following a series of major disruptions at some of the world's largest copper mines.

UBS Group analysts are increasing their forecasts for copper prices in response to divergent supply and demand trends.

UBS indicates that copper prices will increase because global supply cannot keep up with demand. This is influenced by, among others: supply problems at some large mines, including the Indonesian Grasberg mine.

UBS analysts increased their copper price forecast for 2026 by 6%. to USD 5.20 per pound and as much as 13 percent. for 2027 – up to $5.95 per pound.

UBS indicates that the copper deficit on the markets in 2026 may amount to approximately 250,000 tons and in 2027 to 670,000 tons.

At the end of the previous session, copper on the LME was USD 10,820.00 per tonne, up by USD 302. On Friday, the metal lost $350.
