$25 billion mega data center in Argentina

The Argentine government announced the signing of an agreement between OpenAI and the energy company Sur Energy. The new data center will be built in Patagonia, and its construction is part of the country's technological infrastructure development strategy. The “Stargate Argentina” project is carried out in cooperation with Sur Energy and an undisclosed company from the cloud infrastructure sector. The investment is part of the “Regime for the Promotion of Large Investments” (RIGI) program, which was introduced by President Javier Milei. The aim of the program is to attract investment to Argentina on an unprecedented scale. According to the government, the project is one of the largest energy projects in the country's history.
