Vladimir Putin celebrated his birthday. He revealed what gifts he received from the Russians

On Tuesday, October 7, Vladimir Putin celebrated another birthday. After his visit to Tajikistan, the Russian dictator was asked if he received any gifts on this occasion. He replied that there were a few of them, but two icons, i.e. holy Press Orthodox images, were particularly important to him.

“They had all sorts of war stories and books for me. But two gifts are particularly valuable. One of the commanders gave me two icons that our soldiers wore. These icons saved them, they were riddled with bullet holes. And they gave me these icons as a gift. I am very grateful to them, Putin said.

Vladimir Putin and his cynical religiosity

The Russian leader is known for his publicly demonstrated religiosity. This does not prevent him from giving orders to kill innocent people in Ukraine. Putin's religious ally is Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and Russia, who called Russian President Vladimir Putin “an example of a good Christian.” Cyril is listed in the KGB archives as an agent “Mikhailov”. He is considered a supporter of the Kremlin's current brutal policy, and by giving it the priest's blessing, he makes Putin's actions credible in the eyes of ordinary Russians.

It was he who, at Vladimir Putin's request, blessed the crosses and Orthodox icons that were sent to the commanders, who, as the Russian president said, “perform particularly important duties in the zone of a special military operation in defense of the homeland” and in fact murder innocent Ukrainians.
