Hamas will not participate in the Gaza Strip government after the war, a source of the group told AFP on Sunday, the day before the Palestinian territory, which will bring about twenty leaders around Donald Trump in Egypt.

On Friday, an armistice came into force after two years of war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza strip, based on the 20 -point plane of the US President, which provides for the disarmament of Hamas and excludes any role of the Islamist movement in the future government of the Palestinian territory.

“For Hamas, the Gaza Strip government is a solved issue. Hamas will not participate in the transition phase, which means he has given up control over the Gaza strip, but remains a fundamental element of the Palestinian society,” said this source close to the team of negotiators of Hamas.

“The submission of weapons is excluded and non-negotiable”

While the Hamas leadership has been divided into key issues in the past, especially in terms of gases, there is consensus in refusal.

“Hamas accepts a long -term armistice and that his weapons should not be used at all during this period, except for an Israeli attack against Gaza,” said this source.

“The proposed deposit of the proposed weapons is excluded and is not negotiable,” a Hamas manager under the cover of anonymity told AFP on Saturday.

The first clause of the Trump Plan stipulates that the Gaza Strip, where the Islamist movement took power in 2007, to become “a deradly and released area, which will not represent a threat to its neighbors.”

The plan also stipulates that Hamas will not play any role in the future governance of the Gaza strip and that his military infrastructure and his arsenal will be destroyed.

“Technocratic and apolitical” transition committee

During a transition phase, a Palestinian committee “technocratic and apolitical” will be charged with managing public services.

The source close to the negotiators indicated that this team asked Egypt, one of the mediating countries, to convene a meeting before the end of next week to reach an agreement on the composition of this committee and added that the name list was “almost ready”.

“Hamas, along with the other factions, proposed 40 names. There is absolutely no veto on them and none of them belongs to Hamas,” the source added.
