“There were burns everywhere.” The girl injured in the helicopter crash in Brovary returned from the USA

The helicopter of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, on board which was the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary. At that moment, the child’s father was taking his daughter to this kindergarten.

The child received burns on 30% of his body, with the most damage to his face and back. According to the girl’s mother, Ekaterina, she lost consciousness as soon as she saw her injured daughter.

“The burns were everywhere. And now the doctors have already restored the symmetry of the daughter’s face, closed the wounds on the body. And thanks to polishing, the scars are becoming smaller and lighter,” said Ekaterina.

She was first treated in Brovary and Kyiv, then transported to Lvov to prepare for treatment abroad. In Austria, she underwent dozens of operations to cleanse wounds and skin grafts, and a year later, treatment continued in the United States with the support of the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine Foundation. Anya is currently taking part in the Burn Care Alliance project, which is introducing innovative methods of treating Ukrainian patients with burns.

In Lvov, the girl has already undergone three procedures for resurfacing post-burn scars using a CO2 laser, and a number of laser resurfacing procedures and plastic surgeries await her in the USA, the medical association added.
