The UAZ will be checked due to the increase in the cost of “loaves” by 15% per year. Prices have jumped significantly for the second time in 2025 – the price for chaises starts at 1.56 million rubles.
According to Mash, the National Automobile Union contacted the FAS. They demand to check what is going on with the constant price increases and to figure out whether UAZ occupies a monopoly position in the market. Plus, is the rise in prices outstripping the official inflation rate (10.2%) justified? For comparison:
UAZ Patriot (Euro-5) – ₽1.6 million in April 2024 versus ₽1,835,000 (+₽235,000 – 13%)
UAZ Pickup (Euro-5) — ₽1.625 million and ₽1,860,000 (+₽235,000 — 13%)
UAZ SGR – ₽1,345,000 and ₽1,565,000 (+₽220,000 – 15%).
UAZ Hunter – from ₽1,425,000 and ₽1,645,000 (+₽220,000 – 14%)
According to the head of US, Anton Shaparin, 50k rubles are added to the cost for delivery of the ordered car to the place of sale. Which can covertly increase the final cost. The organization also calls for checking whether UAZ misled consumers with the help of “discounts” on the website.
“Loaves” are now popular both among government agencies and volunteers – especially in the Northern Military District. Insiders believe that the rise in price of the plant's products is due to the improvement of production lines. At the same time, buyers complain about a decrease in the quality of cars: gear shift knobs falling off, poor welding and painting.
UAZ claims that the increase in prices for their cars from April 2024 to May 2025 amounted to 11–12.2%, which is below the inflation rate. The rise in price is explained by increased costs for logistics, raw materials and components, as well as modernization of models – for example, the transition to EURO-5 engines and new equipment. At the same time, the company emphasizes, the cost of their cars is growing more slowly than that of competitors: for example, prices for Lada Niva have increased by more than 30%. UAZ also reminds that the temporary delivery fee has been canceled from November 2024. The additional increase in price in 2025 is due to the increased key rate in settlements with dealers.
