Six people died in a head-on collision between two passenger cars. One person was injured. It was later specified that an injured child had been transported to the hospital. Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
“Among the participants were two minors, one of whom died on the spot, and the other was treated and then transported to the emergency department of the Children's Hospital and Polyclinic in Banská Bystrica,” the rescue services reported.
After the accident, it was reported that there were people of Roma nationality in both cars. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Matusz Szutaj Esztok, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims on the X website. Health Minister Kamil Szaszko wrote that “there are moments when even professionals feel helpless.”
