Romania U17, draw in the first qualifying match at Euro »Real Madrid's player was the holder

Romania U17 drew with Israel U17, score 1-1, in the first match of the European Championship preliminaries in 2026.

In the first phase of qualifications, the team prepared by Mircea Diaconescu was assigned in Group 9, along with France, Israel and Azerbaijan. Each one will play with each once, the first two teams after the 3 stages will go in the second phase of qualifications.

All matches take place this month in France. For Romania U17 follows the duel with the French, on October 11, from 4:00 pm. Then, on October 14, the “tricolors” will face Azerbaijan, the weakest national in the group, losing 0-8 in the match with France.

Romania started with an equal in the preliminaries. Diaconescu's national led, Niculcea marking in the 63rd minute. Israel U17 equalized by Dadia, in the 82nd minute.

In the first 11 of the “tricolors” was Eduardo Corlat, the central defender legitimized at Real Madrid. Andrei Dâncuș, from FCSB, was also sent holder, but he played in the middle, although he is a stop at the base. Niculcea, the goal scorer, comes from Rapid. Rusu, from AC Milan, and Miloiu, from Lazio, entered the course.
