For several days an entire city has been fighting a counter -terror meter to offer Ștefaniei, a 19 -year -old, in the first year of student, the chance at healing. The young woman has recently been diagnosed with a serious illness, and treatment abroad can be rescue.
Ștefania Alexia Petcan is 19 years old, graduated this summer the National College “Radu Greceanu” Slatina and is a student in the first year at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest, a dream for which she worked a lot. For a short time, the young woman is experiencing an attempt that can only go with the help of fellows. For the recently discovered condition it needs treatment abroad, the costs for investigations and therapies being estimated at about one million dollars. It all started in August, when Stefania felt pain in the left dorsal part and episodes of hematuria, as revealed the girl's father, Romeo Petcan, judge at the Olt Tribunal. There was a medical check -up at a clinic in Bucharest, from where he was expected to receive a diagnosis of cystitis. But the news was much worse.

„ÎFollowing the investigations, the diagnosis and diagnosis -left renal tumor -recommending operation and removing the kidney. I felt that the earth ran out of my feet. Everything seemed unreal, to find out about my child that he was seriously ill, although, after taking some pills, he seemed to have nothing. Asking for other endorsed opinions, I learned that this was the only solution at that time. On August 24, it was operated on, being performed total left kidney. Postoperative has evolved very well, but, as if it were not enough the diagnosis established in the kidneys, we were told that the disease has evolved and has pulmonary metastases, the diagnosis at this time being of ewing or nephroblastoma, a very rare diagnosis for its age. The medical opinions in Romania regarding the success of the oncological treatment were totally discouraging, which is why we opted for treatment abroad, in Europe mainly or Turkey ”, confessed to the young woman's father, in a message posted.
The family started a crazy race to find the best treatment for the condition of Stefania. The medical documents were transmitted to several oncological institutes, from which answers are expected.

Given the diagnosis received in Romania, the estimated costs for treatment are extremely high, far exceeding the possibilities of the family, so that the parents have finally decided to start a fundraiser, opening on the name of Stefania two humanitarian accounts, in lei and in euros, respectively.
The humanitarian cause was also taken over by the Evertething For Life Association, recognized for the struggle in support of people in similar situations, on the account of this association can contribute even legal persons, as sponsorship.

People, those who know Stephen or know their parents, but also people unrelated to the family, impressed by the situation through which the Petcan family passes, have begun to make donations.
“I cannot describe in words the pain that tries us during this period. Starting this fundraising campaign I was overwhelmed by the way people reacted. It is quite overwhelming to see how people you do not know have transferred money for my child. The biggest emotion was to see that there are people who donated amounts of several tens of lei (20 – 80 lei), which leads me to the fact that they took from their little to help someone in need and certainly convey a good thought. It is a fantastic feeling to find that you are not alone at such times. I understood the meaning of the expression of transformation from the prince to beggar. Things have begun, in just a few days since the family made the decision to publicly share the drama through, to move, and the help came from the children.
A first charity event was held on Monday, October 6, in the gymnasium of the “Radu Greceanu” National College. The basketball teams of the colleges “Radu Greceanu” and “Ion Minulescu”, among which there is an old rivalry, played this time for the same cause, making a show on the field. The minimum donation to be able to participate in the event was 20 lei, the organizers, the Student Council of the CNRG, managing to reach their target to raise 6,000 euros. Along with the students were also teachers from several school units, and the mayor of Slatina, Mario de Mezzo also participated in the event.
“Let's be serious! For a party we give 50 lei without blinking. The minimum donation is 20 lei, but the gesture is worth much more ”, The organizers of the charity event were transmitted to the invited students to participate.

The fight of young people to give them their former support colleague will continue in the coming days. On Wednesday, a volleyball match is scheduled, also facing the teams of the two colleges. The match will take place at the “Ion Minulescu” National College in Slatina. Students also plan to organize a charitable show.
At the municipality level, other similar initiatives are held. The Municipal Sports Club (CSM) Slatina also announced a fundraising, and small entrepreneurs made public that they offer their services following the amounts obtained to be donated to Stefan's account.
