Large tensions between and the US – Venezuela. Trump has given up efforts to reach a diplomatic agreement. The United States could start looking for drugs “on land” / Maduro's latest statements

US President Donald Trump has given up efforts to reach a diplomatic agreement with Venezuela and asked his special envoy Richard Grenell to cease all the steps, a high American official for Reuters revealed Monday.
The information, published for the first time by the New York Times, comes after a series of military attacks on ships carrying drugs near Venezuela.
Trump said in front of Congress that the US is engaged in an “non-international armed conflict” with drug cartels.

The United States “will have to start looking for land”
The American official told Reuters that although Trump appears to consider launching some attacks inside Venezuela, he has not yet decided if he would move to the second phase of the military campaign.
Trump sent Grenell's message during a meeting in the Oval Office last Thursday with high military leaders, the official said.
On Sunday, Trump told members of the US Army that US attacks on venezuela's ribs have stopped the flow of drugs at sea and that the United States “will have to start looking for land.” The White House did not provide other details.
Tensions between Washington and Caracas have intensified since Trump returned to the White House in January, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro denying the US accusations that drugs are producing in the country and claiming that the US hopes to remove it from power.
Trump has minimized the possibility of a regime change in the South American country.
In August, Washington doubled the reward for information that would lead to Maduro's arrest for $ 50 million, accusing him of linking drugs and criminal groups, accusations that Maduro denies.
Maduro: a bomb challenge was prepared at the US Embassy
Venezuela claims that “extremists” wanted to place explosive at the American Embassy in Caracas, denouncing a crisis challenge between the two countries, against the background of American war ships in the Caribbean, AFP reports on Tuesday.
“It was a challenging action,” Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Monday evening on television, assuring that “two sources” provided consistent information on “the possibility for a local terrorist group to place an explosive load at the United States Embassy.”
“It is a typical fake flag operation,” he said.
“It could be called a typical challenge operation to create a scandal and use the communication power through networks and media to blame the Bolivarian Government (Venezuelan, no) and start a climbing (…) in which only the noise of machine guns and missiles will be heard,” he continued.
“Despite all the disputes we had with the United States governments, this embassy is protected in accordance (…) with international law by our government. The United States Embassy in Venezuela is considered an American territory,” he said, adding that “Security has been reinforced” around buildings.
“We are not a narco-state”
In parallel, the authorities organized in the afternoon of a march that ended in front of the United Nations headquarters. The protesters rejected the presence of American war vessels near territorial waters and drug trafficking allegations launched by US President Donald Trump.
“We are not a narco-state, we are bolivarists”, one of the slopes raised during the meeting could be read.
“We want to tell (…) Mr. Trump to withdraw his ships (and) rocket batteries, because this is not a drug trafficker, but a country that fights drug trafficking,” AFP Manuel Ladera, an airport employee aged 62.
Power regularly accuses the opposition of real or imaginary plots. Caracas and Washington broke the diplomatic relations in 2019, and the US Embassy in Caracas is deserted, except for some employees.
Where is the leader of the Venezuelan opposition?
On the social networks, a rumor circulates for several weeks that the leader of the opposition Maria Corina Machado, which is in clandestinity since the July 2024 presidential elections, has found refuge in the American Embassy.
This has not revealed where there is and no Venetian or American authority has confirmed these rumors.
However, the powerful Minister of Interior and Justice, Diosdado Cabello, suggested in mid -September that Machado is inside the American embassy. “It is located in Valle Arriba, in a big house, which is said to be nobody there, but there is someone (…) but do not tell anyone, because it is a secret,” he said ironically. The United States Embassy is just in the Valle Arriba area.
The opposition claimed victory in the presidential elections of 2024, accusing election fraud. Nicolas Maduro's realization was not recognized by Washington, nor by much of the international community.
On Friday, Washington, who carried out military ships in the Caribbean Sea in an anti -drug operation, launched a new attack on a suspected drug trafficking ship off the coasts of Venezuela, killing four people. This raises to at least four the number of attacks on such ships, resulting in at least 21 dead.
Nicolas Maduro denounced on Friday an “armed aggression” from the United States, accusing Washington of using drug trafficking as a fake pretext “to impose a regime change” and to put his hand on the most important oil reserves.
The Venezuelan government on Thursday condemned the “illegal incursion” of American hunting planes in an area under its air control.
