Jeff Bezos, one of the richest people in the world, believes that space will not be a border for the very wealthy and states that millions of inhabitants will leave their orbit to live in just a few decades, reports Financial Times.

In a rare public appearance after renouncing the position of CEO Al Amazon in 2021, Bezos was interviewed by John Elkann, the inheriting billionaire of the Italian dynasty Agnelli and president of the car manufacturers and Ferrari, during a public discussion that was organized during the Italian Technology Week.

The conversation, which addressed a wide range of topics, also included a prediction of Bezos – the founder of Amazon and the Blue Origin Aerospace Company – according to which millions will live in space “in the next few decades”.

“They will live there mainly because they will want this,” he stressed. Bezos said that this will be due to the fact that robots will be more capable and profitable than human work in space and, therefore, those who want to live beyond the earth will not be forced to do this from financial considerations.

Bezos also predicted that huge database centers for artificial intelligence, powered by solar energy, will be built.

“There has never been a better time to be excited about the future,” Bezos said. “We are privileged to live in a time when several golden age are taking place,” said Jeff Bezos, with an estimated Bloomberg wealth at $ 243 billion.

Bezos says that artificial intelligence will transform “every industry”

Asked by Elkann about the parallels between the so-called “dot-comp on the stock exchange, from the late 1990s, and the current enthusiasm about artificial intelligence, Bezos reminded the anxiety of employees and the despair of investors when the price of Amazon shares from $ 113 to $ 6 in a” 2000 year “.

He claimed that the price of Amazon SA shares “disconnected from the foundations” of his business, which remained solid at that time.

“When people become very excited, as is the case today about artificial intelligence, any experiment receives funding, any company receives funding,” he said.

“Investors have difficulty, in the middle of this effervescence, to make the difference between good and bad ideas. Probably the same thing happens today. But that does not mean that what is happening is not real. Artificial intelligence is real, it will transform every industry,” explained the 61 -year -old billionaire.

“We do not know exactly how long it will take, but it is very real,” said Jeff Bezos.
