Daria Kasatkina (28 years old, 19 WTA) announced that she will no longer compete this year and has published a long testimony about the difficult season she had and how she tried to provide a different impression than reality.

In 2024, Daria Kasatkina evolved excellently, obtaining 2 titles and playing in 4 other finals. However, this year, the 19th -place athlete failed the same performance and had a balance of 19 wins and 22 defeats.

The best results of Kasatkina, in 2025, were the qualification in “quarters” at Adelaide and the presence in tour 4 at the Australian Open and Roland Garros. After reaching round 3 at Roland Garros, the 28 -year -old tennis was lost in the second round (the first one he entered) at Seoul and Beijing.

Daria Kasatkina: “I need a break from the monotonous rhythm of life on the circuit”

Kasatkina does not participate in Wuhan Open, the last WTA 1000 tournament of the year, and, during this morning, posted, on Instagram, A message announcing that he will no longer play in 2025.

Australian explained that he had a very difficult year, in which he felt as if he had hit a wall and acknowledged that he often hid her condition. Kasatkina has revealed that she needs a routine exit and that she will return, stronger, in 2026.

“I am good”, words that I have all heard of many women in different fields of life, knowing that they are not good, but that they are far from being good, but continues, destroying a little longer every time.

This is me. 2025 was the year “I'm fine.” I have been far from being good for a long time and if I tell the truth, my results and performance show this, the fans are not stupid, they can see. I kept my feelings hidden because I did not want to seem to complain, that I am weak or, God forbid, that I am ungrateful or that I do not appreciate this great life that we live as professional tennis players.

The truth is that I hit the wall and I can't continue. I need a break. A break from the monotonous rhythm of life on the circuit, from luggage, results, pressure, the same faces (excuses, girls) and from everything that comes with this life.

The program is too much, mental and emotional are at a critical point and, unfortunately, I am not alone.

Add to this story and the emotional and mental stress about changing the passport, the fact that I could not see my parents (4 years since I did not see my father) and the battles in progress to achieve total eligibility to represent Australia in competitions. There is much and there are too many things to shower as a woman, while I compete with the best athletes in the world.

If that makes me weak, then, I am weak. However, I know I am strong and that I will return stronger, after I recharge my batteries, I regroup and regain my energy. It's time to listen to myself for a change in mind, heart and body.

2025 ended for me and, as in my case it was far from being good …

So I join the club that comes out of 2025. However, I will be fine and I can hardly wait to see you all in 2026, energized and prepared for the job!

With love,

Dasha (no Daria Kasatkina)

In the spring of this year, Daria Kasatkina, originally from Russia, announced that it had obtained Australian citizenship And that she will represent her new country in international competitions. Over the years, the athlete has entered the viewfinder of the authorities in her native country after revealing that she is a lesbian and was totally declared against the war triggered by Russia in Ukraine.
