We eat more and more sugar and less and less milk. Data may surprise


According to the Central Statistical Office, the consumption of pasta and pasta products (by 5.1 percent) as well as cheese and cottage cheese (by 5 %) increased. In turn, the decrease in consumption concerned margarine and vegetable fats (by 4.5 percent), fresh milk (by 2.5 percent) and bread (by 1.5 %).
The average monthly consumption of most food products per person in households vary depending on socio-economic groups. Households of pensioners, compared to other socio-economic groups, consumed much more bread, meat, milk, eggs, oils and fats, fruits and vegetables (including potatoes)-GUS also reports.
The office points out that the amount of income achieved by households also determines the level of consumption of foodstuffs. In households achieving the highest income, compared to the lowest -income households, on average a month was consumed per person more: fish and seafood, fruit, yogurt, butter, fruit and vegetable juices, cheese and cottage cheese, vegetables (without potatoes), mineral or source waters, eggs, bread and cereal products, meat and milk.
However, in households with the lowest income, slightly more margarine and other plant fats, potatoes and sugar were consumed.
According to the Central Statistical Office, city residents consumed more vegetables (without potatoes), fruits and cheese and cottage cheese, and less bread, meat, potatoes, sugar and mineral waters.
