Since in 2025 the minimum salary in Ukraine is 8 thousand UAH, according to the proposal, the payment of unemployed Ukrainians can reach 12 thousand UAH.
In addition, the document proposes to increase the duration of payments to 180 days. According to Law No. 2622-IX, adopted in 2022, this period is 90 days.
The initiators of the bill explained that during martial law, the government temporarily received the right to approve the budget of the Fund of Compulsory State Social Insurance without the participation of the board, which, according to them, led to a skew in the expenses of the fund, in particular, insufficient financing of unemployment benefits.
Therefore, the authors noted that they are so striving to restore the powers of the Board of the Fund in agreement and approval of its annual budget, as well as increase the efficiency of the use of insurance funds and the social protection of the unemployed, the explanatory note says.
Context
According to the Ukrainian information and financial portal Minfin, in August 2025 there were 94 thousand registered unemployed in Ukraine.
