Ștefania Uță (17 years old), European champion U20 to 400 meters fenceswas nominated by the European Athletics Federation for the best -growing star in Europe in 2025.
Almost 2 months ago, on August 9, Stefan Uță became U20 European champion at 400 m fences, after an exceptional evolution in the city of Tampere in Finland. The 17 -year -old athlete set the new record of the competition, 55.55 seconds, bringing the second medal for the Romanian delegation.

Uța surpassed the French Meta Tumba (55.56 seconds) and Viola Hambidge (Estonia, 56.71 seconds). Therefore, the athlete coached by Alina Enescu climbed on the highest step of the podium.
“I didn't expect to run so fast, because this season was a bit difficult for me. But I'm very proud of myself and glad I did that.
I didn't know who won, because I was very close to Tumba. I didn't care whether I won or not. Time for me is the most important. And now that he came with the gold medal, it's a bonus“, Said Uță, quoted by Eurosport.
Due to his performance in Finland, Stefan Uță was nominated by the European Athletics Federation for the Best Starting Prize in Europe in 2025.
