The alarm sirens announced an attack with Ukrainian drones called shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on Thursday about the Ukraine war and other issues at a forum organized in Soci, southwest Russia, DPA and Agerpres reported on Friday.

Activities at airports in Soci and Gelendjik have been suspended, Rosavia, the civil aeronautical authority in Russia announced on Telegram.

The inhabitants received on the mobile phones a message in which they were warned of a drone alert in the Krasnodar region, being advised not to stay on the streets and to stay away from the windows of the buildings.

It was not clear where Putin was. In the Soci there is a strong secure residence for the Russian president and he often works from there. The Flightradar 24 site showed several Russian aircraft with the destination of the Soci who flew in the circle above the North Caucasus.

The Russian air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 20 Ukrainian drones overnight above some Russian and Black Sea regions, the Ministry of Defense in Russia announced on Friday morning, according to TASS.

Little, with eyes on the arrying of Europe

Putin addressed a series of topics in the forum, mainly the Ukraine war, and accused Europe of permanently escalating the conflict, although many countries have sought a peaceful solution.

He said that Russia is fighting against the “entire NATO block” in Ukraine and that the Russian army is advancing on the front line.

Putin has also accused Kiev's army of attacking around the Zaporojie nuclear power plant, which is under Russian control and is without external electric power supply over a week, threatening to attack Ukrainian energy infrastructures.

Putin also reacted to the arming of European states, when they invest more in defense, given the conflict in progress. “We closely monitor the increasing militarization of Europe,” Putin said.

“In Germany, for example, it is said that the German army should become the strongest in Europe. We hear this and we seek to see what is meant by this,” he said.

He also warned the USA not to give Ukraine longer -range rockets. Among other topics, Putin has expressed support for US President Donald Trump's proposals to end the Middle East conflict.

The Kremlin leader also gave the Romanian example, referring to the authorities in some countries that try to “ban” the political opponents who enjoy great confidence among the citizens, but these actions do not work, according to the Russian president.
