In the regional capital today, October 1, the exhibition “Krasnoyarsk Archaeological” was opened. It is dedicated to the VII (XXIII) All-Russian archaeological congress, which for the first time pro-Dydkt in Krasnoyarsk on October 6-10.

The exhibition will present the results of field archaeological research of the Siberian Federal University on the historical monuments of Krasnoyarsk – the prison fortress, district and provincial city, as well as the surrounding rural settlements and the Assumption Monastery.

The venue of the exhibition, the cultural and historical center “Uspensky”, was not chosen by chance. At the site of its construction in 2014, excavations were carried out, during which items were found, some of which will be presented at the exhibition. These items made up the foundation of the New Age Foundation at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of the Yenisei Siberia of the Gumanitarian Institute of the SFU.

A significant part of the exhibits of the exhibition was discovered during the excavations of the Krasnoyarsk prison in 2024 at the restoration of the cultural heritage objects of the “Kuskovy House” and “Residential House of N. A. Fon-Ezersky”, located on Karl Marx Street. They are complemented by objects found on the territory of the historical quarter and Novobazarny Square. Field research was carried out by joint work with partners of the Siberian Federal University: Historical Quarter JSC and LLC SK Georg.

Materials on the topic

The exhibition is conditionally divided into two locations. The first presents dishes for storage, cooking and eating by citizens of the XVII – XIX centuries. Here are the materials of large fires of 1773 and 1881. The second location is devoted to the life and craft of the townspeople, which are reflected in objects from the surviving sections of the city cultural layer. The transition between them will be occupied by the modern artistic works of students of the Open Studio Art School and students of the Institute of Architecture and Design of the Siberian Federal District.

The exhibition will last until October 21, 2025.
