The US Supreme Court supports Lisa Cook against Trump

In the decision issued on Wednesday, the judges said that Cook could act as at least until January, when the Tribunal recognizes the case after hearing the arguments of both sides, writes Bloomberg.
The economist has been in the position since the end of August, when Trump announced that he would remove it because of the alleged mortgage fraud, which Cook denied.
The court emphasized that “he is postponing the decision on Trump's request to dismiss Cook, while the Department of Justice calls for a lower court's decision, which decided that she has a good chance of winning the trial regarding its exemption.” None of the judges raised an objection to the decision.
Fed independence at the dispute rate
In recent months, the Supreme Court in most cases has been on the side of Trump in disputes regarding the dismissal of officials from federal agencies. The Cook case, however, is extremely important because – as experts note – “the independence of the federal reserve from the White House has long been seen as crucial for maintaining economic stability,” writes Bloomberg.
