Lower prices do not tempt patients. Polish health resorts lose their clients

Sanatoriums play a large role in the health care system, offering spa rehabilitation and treatment. A decrease in interest may mean not only financial losses for institutions, but also a deterioration in the health of patients who give up treatment.

Anna Leder, spokeswoman for the Łódź Voivodship Branch of the National Health Fund, in an interview with Money.pl signals a rapid increase in stays of stays. The would -be patients indicate various reasons for abandoning the sanatorium.
Sometimes prosaic reasons are given – such as the need to smoke in the oven in winter or a problem with providing the care for animals. Anna Leder draws attention, that the preferences of people using spa treatment are changing, and dissatisfaction with the conditions of accommodation and rehabilitation is becoming an increasingly common reason for resignation.
Sanatoriums are cheaper and people give up anyway. The reason may surprise
The negative trend that affects Polish sanatoriums may be all the more surprising because the winter season is a time of significant reductions in amounts for staying in spas. From October to April, prices are falling, which in the case of a 21-day stay can bring saving.
The daily cost starts from PLN 10.60, and a maximum of PLN 32.60. For comparison, in the summer season prices range from PLN 11.90 to PLN 40.90 per day. Still, lower costs do not always translate into greater interest.

Although the prices are lower, patients still have to incur additional costs, such as travel fees, caregivers' stay or climate fees. The NFZ also does not refund all treatments, which means that part of the costs of rehabilitation falls on patients.
In addition-as Anna Leder admits in an interview with Money.pl-dissatisfaction with the conditions in sanatoriums, such as the lack of free Wi-Fi, also affects the decisions about resignation.
