New speed cameras on routes. The Kampinos Forest under supervision


New OPP devices in Poland are already under assembly. For drivers, this means above all more mindfulness in traveling in accordance with applicable regulations.

As explained by Otomoto.pl, 43 new segment speed measurements are to be created on Polish roads by June 2026. Mostly they will be organized on fast roads. The new OPP already operates, among others On the A4 motorway on the section between the Wrocław and Pietrzykowice angles.
At the same time, the automatic traffic supervision center (Canard) points out that drivers must be prepared for section speed measurements also on roads with lower traffic. One of such points is to be OPP in the Kampinos National Park, where it can operate in 2025.

As reported by Otomoto.pl, the structures of the OPP system have already appeared on the 13-kilometer section of voivodship road No. 579, which connects Leszno with Kazun. One of the camera booms stood within the Kampinos National Park.
The section speed measurement established here may surprise drivers, but the system has its justification. First of all, it is to control drivers on the route, which is often chosen as a shortcut for travelers from Gdańsk.
The investment – as explained by Otomoto.pl – was implemented as part of the Mazovia civic budget. Its value is PLN 1.15 million, and all installed devices will be integrated with the Canard system, just like other cameras or speed cameras of automatic supervision.

The aforementioned route around Warsaw has been considered one of the most dangerous for animals from the Kampinos Forest for years. As the Otomoto.pl website notes, in October 2024 six elks were killed here, which is the most tragic month in the history of observation. Environmentalists decided to conduct their own speed tests in the aforementioned episode, in which it turned out that in just three hours the drivers exceeded the speed of over 2200 times.
