Donald Trump's peace plan. Assumes the concessions of Israel

Donald Trump's peace plan is to contain 21 points and has already been presented to the leaders of Arab and Muslim countries last week. The Times of Israel portal published a copy of the document on the weekend. He assumes that if both Israel and Hamas agree, the war will be completed immediately.

Immediately after the announcement of the agreement, Hamas is to free all hostages (according to the Israeli side there are 48, of which 20 are still alive), and Israel is to suspend armed actions and start gradually withdrawing from the Gaza Strip. In exchange for abducted Israel, he is to slow down several hundred Palestinian prisoners and detainees. It is also to be immediately increased by the influx of humanitarian aid to the war of Palestinian territory, which lasted nearly two years.

The plan assumes the introduction of the Palestinian Technical Administration, supervised by the international body, established by the US in consultation with Arab and European countries, in the Zone. It also includes the creation of temporary international stabilization forces.

The proposal states that the inhabitants of the Gaza Zone will not be forced to leave it, and even encourage them to stay in it. This is a difference in relation to the previous announcements of Donald Trump, predicting the resettlement of Palestinians. Such slogans met with the enthusiastic reaction of the Israeli extreme right, which also called for the annexation of the Gaza Zone and the restoration of Jewish estates there. In the latest plan of Donald Trump, the second occupation or annexation of this territory was excluded.

The contract includes the commissioning of power by Hamas and “destruction and cessation of the construction of any offensive military infrastructure” by this organization. Hamas members who commit to maintaining peace will be able to stay in the Gaza Strip; Those who want to leave her will be able to do it safely.

The agreement opens the way to the Palestinian statehood

The proposal states that the temporary administration is to deal with the Gaza Strip “until the Palestinian autonomy ends the reform program”. It was also written that when this happens, “there may be conditions for a reliable plan for Palestinian statehood.”

The official position of the Israeli government assumes total demilitarization of Hamas and excludes any role of Palestinian autonomy in gauze administration. Israel is also opposed to the establishment of the Palestinian state. The establishment of an independent Palestine assumes a broader plan to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, submitted by France and Saudi Arabia and supported by the overwhelming majority of the UN Member States.

Hamas said on Sunday that he has not received the latest American plan yet. According to the publication of “Times of Israel”, however, the proposal assumes that the new administration and stabilization forces could start operating even without the consent of Hamas in areas that do not remain under the control of this group – this is currently the majority of the Gaza Zone territory.

Binjamin Netanyahu talked on Sunday with the American Advisor for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, who is considered the author of the proposal.

Israeli media reported that the meeting was successful. At the same time, there was a series of information about Israel's additional conditions that may threaten to lose the support of Arab countries or reject the entire proposal by Hamas, “Times of Israel wrote.

Dispute in Israel for the plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip

The plan also resumed political disputes in Israel itself. Hamas families held by Hamas appealed to Trump not to let Binjamin Netanyahu to sabotage of the agreement. Part of the Israeli society has long accused the prime minister that the keys in conversations to continue the war, which allows him to maintain the support of the far -right coalition partners.

One of their leaders Minister of Finance Becalel Smoticz announced on Monday that he would not agree to a contract that does not contain a “complete termination and demilitarization of Hamas”.

The adoption of Donald Trump's plan would not mean the great victory of Binjamin Netanyahu, because this is an updated version of the proposal of the previous US President Joe Biden, which the Israeli prime minister initially accepted, but later tried to withdraw from it – commented on Monday the daily Haarec. The newspaper added, however, that for the first time it seems that the agreement has actual chances for implementation.
