Inhabitants of this region can participate in elections in the territory controlled by the authorities in Chisinau.

301 electoral premises (more than 60 more than last year's presidential election) were opened outside the country, and the most – in Italy (over 70), Germany, France and Romania. Only two voting points were open in Russia's territory.

Voters in ten countries – USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand – had the opportunity to vote correspondence after prior registration.

Pre -election polls

15 political parties competed in the election of a 101-member parliament (one more on the eve of the election withdrew, passing on their votes of the PAS ruling party), three blocks and four independent candidates. The electoral threshold for the party in Moldova is 5 percent, and for blocks – 7 percent. Parliament has 101 places, which means that 51 seats are needed to get the majority. Voting takes place according to party lists.

The polls predicted that three or four political forces would get into the parliament. In most studies, the pro -European party and solidarity (PAS) ruling for four years conducted the ruling. In second place was a pro -Russian patriotic election block (BEP), consisting of socialists, communists and the Future of Moldova. On Friday, the Central Electoral Commission voted for excluding another party from the election, belonging to the heart of Moldova (Prim). The reason was indicated by suspicions of illegal financing from Moscow.

According to surveys, the Alternative Bloc and our party Renato Usatii also have a chance to enter parliament. The alternative consists of the party of the Mayor of Chisinau Ion Cebana, a former candidate in the presidential election Alexander Stoianoglo, former communist ideologist Mark Tkaciuk and former Prime Minister Ion Chic. The alternative is positioned as a pro -European group, but due to the political history of its members, experts are skeptical of these declarations and indicate their connections with Moscow.

Our party also has a chance to get to the parliament, headed by Renato Usatii, a populist who criticizes both the power party and the main opposition forces. Usatii is considered a revolving policy, but pregnant towards Moscow.

The Central Electoral Commission did not allow one block

Such a distribution of forces means that if the majority of the majority of the belt will have a problem finding a coalition partner who will support her in activities for eurointegration, which may cause inhibition and even stop this process. That is why Moldovan elections are called “the most important in history” and focused the unprecedented attention of international media.

The main opponents of the Pas from the Patriotic Bloc criticize the Power Party for confrontational policy towards Moscow, and accuse the authorities of “according to the instruction” from the West and intentions “to draw the country into war” and “falsifying elections”.

The Central Electoral Commission (CeC) did not allow the block to participate in the election (Victorie, Pobieda), consisting of puppet parties associated with Ilan Sore, operating from Russia, a former oligarchy prosecuted in Moldova for “robbing the state”.

Unprecedented scale of Russian interference

According to the authorities in Chisinau, during the current elections, the scale of Russian interference is unprecedented, consisting in buying voices and disinformation campaigns.

Analysts emphasized that with a large mobilization of the diaspora, the Pas still has some chances to get the majority (the polls do not capture votes from abroad). A very high percentage of undecided was recorded in research in the territory of the country, which hinders to forecast the results.

The election authorities in Chisinau accredited over two thousand observers, including nearly 800 international observers.

Cec also decided that the election will not conduct exit poll research (polls at the exit from the premises).
