About 50,000 people participated in Berlin on a demonstration on Saturday, which they asked to stop genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, a demonstration convened by several civil society organizations, writes the EFE agency, taken over by Agerpres.

This demonstration has been one of the largest that took place in Germany since the beginning of the Israeli offensive against the Islamist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

In videos from protest posted on social networks you can see altercations between the police and the protesters. The demonstration turned into a march that ended at the Victoria Monument in the Tiergarten Central Park.

The manifesto of the protest asks the German government to abandon any military cooperation with Israel and to take “all possible measures” to obtain an immediate armistice and to enter the humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave.

At the end of August, the UN officially declared hunger in the Gaza Strip, after the organization experts warned that about half a million people are there in a “catastrophic” humanitarian situation following the Israeli military offensive.
