Tony Blair returns to the game. Can manage the post -war gauze zone

In recent days Donald Trump presented new concepts regarding the suspension of weapons in the Gaza Strip and the method of managing this territory during the transitional period. During the meeting with the leaders of the Arab and Muslim states, the American president presented a plan which provides for the establishment of a Palestinian committee responsible for administering the region. The International Supervisory Board would watch over his work, in which Tony Blair would like to sit – according to information from the people familiar with the proposal.
According to sources, Blair was also proposed as the chairman of the board of the newly created “International Temporary Gaza”. The office of the former prime minister did not comment on these reports. After leaving Downing Street, Blair served as the Middle East envoy and has been promoting the idea of international trust for the Gaza Strip for months. Last month he participated in a meeting in the White House, where he discussed post -war plans for the region with Jared Kushner, the Middle East and Trump's son -in -law.
Opposition to international trust
European and Arab countries opposition to the concept of international trust, arguing that such a model of management would marginalize Palestinians and deprive him of ID in the eyes of Gaza residents.
In their opinion, the responsibility for administering the region should rest on the Palestinian Technocrat Committee, supported by Palestinian autonomy – the managing body of parts of the occupied west shore, which enjoys the support of the West.
Alternative suggestions and elements of Trump's plan
The plan presented by Donald Trump combines various European and Arab concepts. He assumes the establishment of the Palestinian Committee managing the Gaza Strip, which would act under international supervision. In addition, it provides for the distribution of international stabilization forces, aimed at ensuring security in the region after the end of hostilities.
Blair has been conducting individual activities for a long time to create international trust in the Gaza Stripwhich would help in the reconstruction and stability of the region after an Israeli war with Hamas almost two years. His commitment and talks with the American administration indicate that the former British prime minister can play an important role in shaping the future of this key area of the Middle East.
