The tires managed the best on a dry road Michelin Pilot Alpin 5. These tires were also the most effective in winter conditions. A set turned out to be unrivaled on wet Goodyear Ultragrip Performance 3.
Due to the smallest abrasion, the Goodyear tires also guaranteed the largest expected mileage (about 76,000 km) and generated the smallest noise, although much cheaper sets were also good in this category. “Winter” was considered the most efficient Dunlop Winter Sport 5.
The worst winter tires according to ADAC
Among the worst rated, there were a lot of Chinese brands: Nankan, Landsail, Goodride, Evergreen, Tomket and Syron. Importantly, in their case, the disadvantage turned out not so much the braking effectiveness in winter conditions, but the drainage of water on wet surfaces or safety while driving on a dry road and for many years warm winters in Poland show that this is an equally important attribute.
For comparison, a car driving on wet surfaces at a speed of 80 km/h, equipped with the winning Goodyear tires stopped after 31 meters. A car that had the worst rated set of Synron Everest 2, after 31 meters, was still moving at a speed of 45 km/h. Among the Chinese Test brands, with a satisfactory assessment, the tires went through Momo and Matador.
