Flights of unidentified drones were observed this weekend over the Mourmelon-Le-Grand military base, from the Marne department, in northeast of France, told AFP the departmental military delegation (DMD), confirming an information published by the Local L'Oion newspaper, according to News.ro.
It was small devices, not “drones piloted by the military”, DMD said, stressing that this incident “is exceptional”.
According to the procedure in the case of drone flights, “the security measures were reinforced to meet this situation” and a complaint was filed.
No element allows it to be considered, at this moment, that it could be a foreign interference, Consises DMD, given that the airports in Copenhagen and Oslo were temporarily closed at the beginning of the week due to the presence of unidentified drones.
Other Civil Airports in Denmark, as well as a Danish military air base were overcome by drones on Tuesday night.
The Mourmelon-le-Grand military camp hosted Ukrainian soldiers last year, within the “Champagne” Operational Group. This year, the base also houses a “tactical training center for drones” (CETD).
