WhatsApp users will be able to translate the messages they receive, thanks to the latest facility introduced by the application owned by Meta, writes News.ro.

To translate a message, the user only has to hold it until the context menu appears and choose the translated option here, followed by the selection of the language in which the translation will be made.

The translation is done locally, to protect the intimacy of users, says the company, which wants to mention that the messages remain encrypted.

Depending on the platform, the new functionality has certain particularities. On the iPhone, for example, the translation can be done in several languages, because the translation system of the operating system is used.

Android can be translated into fewer languages, but instead, there is the possibility of automatic translation of the messages received from a certain chat.

There is no support for translations into Romanian.

The translation will be available in individual chats, discussions and channels, but only on Android and iPhone.
