The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, sent details about the air quality in Bucharest on Tuesday, after the violent fire that included a hall in Sector 2 and that made the air becoming largely in the capital.
The air quality monitoring stations in Bucharest have registered temporary increases in suspended particles (PM10), with maximum values of around 70 µg/m³, at the station on Basarabia Boulevard, in the labor-Iancului area, the government official announced.
The details of the Minister of the Environment:
“This evening, a fire occurred at a storage hall on the Hobița alley no. 6, sector 2 (Antefrig area). The intervention of the ISU Bucharest-Ilfov firefighters is in progress, and for the safety of the citizens, several RO-ALERT messages have been issued.
The air quality monitoring stations in Bucharest have registered temporary increases in suspended particles (PM10), with maximum values around 70 µg/m³ at the Bd. Basarabia station.

According to the National Meteorology Administration, the air circulation this night is weak.
The cloud of smoke will move slowly to the west and southwest, which means that the most exposed remain sectors 2, 4, 5 and partial 3 and 6.
Recommendations for population:
- Respect the RO-Alert messages;
- Avoid direct exposure to smoke, close windows and limit outdoor trips in affected areas;
- people with respiratory or heart disease, children and the elderly must be particularly cautious;
- Request medical assistance if respiratory discomfort symptoms occur.
The Ministry of the Environment, through the APM Bucharest and the National Environmental Guard, permanently monitors the quality of the air and will communicate the evolutions in real time.“
Violent fire
A powerful fire broke out on Tuesday evening at a hall in Sector 2 of the Capital – in Șos. Pantelimon, in the area being large smoke releases.
According to ISUBIF, at least 10 extinguishing vehicles were alerted.
The authorities issued four RO-Alert messages in which they warn about the smoke released by the fire.
The last message was issued in sectors 2, 3, 4 and 5, according to ISU Bucharest-Ilfov.
